The Government of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela categorically rejects the statement from the State Department in relation to the terrorist attack planned on August 4 and executed from the US territory, as well as its cynical accusations whose sole purpose is to interfere once more in domestic politics Venezuelan favoring the political group that promotes destabilization and violence in the country.

A State that boasts of fighting against terrorism and that under this cause today leads no less than 7 armed conflicts around the world, minimizes with a biased statement, the seriousness of the facts and raises false accusations against the Venezuelan judicial processes in Open ignorance of our laws.

Venezuela is not the country that has planted around the world illegal detention centers where information is sought to extract detainees using methods recognized around the world as torture and that have the endorsement of its highest leadership. It was not the President of Venezuela, but Donald Trump who publicly assured that "torture works." Likewise, Venezuela is not the country that indefinitely detains immigrants in detention centers or that has reached the point of separating children from their parents, leading them not only to emotional trauma and the systematic violation of their rights, but also exposing them to atrocities such as sexual abuse and even the forced consumption of psychotropic substances, as denounced by Judge Dolly Gee.

The Government of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela is open and even invited the US government to participate in the investigation, as long as it is in a spirit of true search for justice and not an attempt to cover it up or to protect terrorists, such and as he has done in the past with figures like Luis Posada Carriles, a confessed terrorist, whom they never handed over to the Venezuelan authorities to carry out their due punishment. That the politicians allied with the interests of the US government commit crimes does not make them political prisoners, but criminals and the Venezuelan justice will continue fighting against impunity to guarantee justice, stability and peace throughout the national territory.

The government of the United States, with its criminal blockade against our country, has shown on numerous occasions that it is not on the side of the Venezuelan people. It is regrettable, but not surprising, that once again, having the opportunity to stand on the side of justice, the United States prefers to remain on the side of violence and unconstitutional departures. The Venezuelan people, in spite of the attacks and interventionist attempts, as they did during the constituent convocation of 2017, continue their determined course towards peace, progress and social justice together with the Bolivarian Government, in defense of our sovereignty and independence.
