During a press conference of the Council of Vice Presidents of the different areas, the Executive Vice President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Delcy Rodríguez Gómez, said that the statements of the Vice President of the United States, Mike Pence, on the economic measures announced by President Nicolás Maduro, are part of the distorted reality that they intent to pose at international against the Bolivarian nation.

Rodriguez called on Pence to take care of the situation of humanitarian crisis that exists in his country due to extreme poverty, product of the application -for decades- of capitalist policies that leave aside the population in general.

"I recommend to the vice president of the United States that he should take good care of the situation of humanitarian crisis an massive poverty that exists in his country," said the Vice President.

Also, he recalled that unlike the dollar, the Venezuelan economic system has a currency that is anchored on Venezuela's oil reserves. So he dismissed Pence's analysis and pointed out that the economic measures taken by President Maduro are correct and are assertives and their goals are to protect the Venezuelan people.

"The support of the dollar is war, the support of the Sovereign Bolivar (Bolivar Soberano) are our reserves, the Petro. Meanwhile in the United States the dollar is practically a ghost just supported by the great warmongering machinery..", said Rodriguez.

In that sense, the Executive Vice-President was emphatic in holding that the Trump administration should respect the sovereignty of Venezuela and not get involved in internal affairs that Venezuelans has decided to resolve without any interference.
