Caracas, February 19th 2018.- As part of the South-South Dignity Tour initiated by the Chancellor of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Jorge Arreaza, in Mother Africa, he arrived in the Federal Republic of Nigeria to hold a meeting with his counterpart Geoffrey Onyeama, at the headquarters from the chancellery of the African country, where they signed agreements in the areas of agriculture, infrastructure and education to strengthen cooperation among brother countries.

The agreements that we sign today are strategic because they strengthen the dialogue and cooperation between our countries, creating capacities in education and developing talent, "said the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Nigeria.

In this regard, he assured that the meeting with the Venezuelan diplomat led to the programming of a Mixed Commission for the current year and thus be able to implement a "comprehensive action plan" for the benefit of the peoples.

Likewise, the head of the Foreign Ministry of the African country stressed that Venezuela and Nigeria face similar challenges, therefore he expressed his solidarity with the people and the Bolivarian Government, for the sanctions the nation faces and also urged the international communities to adopt a constructive position.

"We will support the Government of Venezuela, promote the increase of our commercial relationship and we hope that peace and stability will reign soon in the country because Venezuela has great potential and resources that we believe should be at the service of the Venezuelan people," added Foreign Minister Geoffrey Onyeama and at the same time he thanked the Venezuelan representative, Jorge Arreaza.

Gira3He also recalled that Nigeria has always had excellent relations with the Fatherland of Bolívar, which he described as strong. He stressed that both nations are linked in a very significant way because, for the Venezuelan people, African and Nigerian blood flows.

For his part, Venezuelan Foreign Minister Jorge Arreaza said that the Bolivarian Government still has much to work in partnership with Mother Africa and with the peoples of Latin America and the Caribbean.

"We have a long road ahead in which we must work more united than ever to make things change, so for the Venezuelan people as for the peoples of West Africa and also for the Latin American peoples and the ALBA countries in our region." , said the Venezuelan Chancellor.
Venezuela and Nigeria strengthen friendship links

The President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro Moros, received on February 5th, the credentials of the Nigerian Ambassador, Cobham Martin Nyong, who also received honors from the National Head of State.

At the same time, the Secretary General of the Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries (Opep), Mohammed Barkindo, visited the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela to hold a meeting with the Venezuelan President, where they evaluated issues related to the development of the global oil market.
